The Story of Asker Usta
With two branches in Istanbul, Maslak and Ümraniye, we bring the traditional flavors of Adana to your table with an unmatched presentation. Our story dates back to the 1940s in Hürriyet Mahallesi, Adana.
In 1940, in Hürriyet Mahallesi, Adana, directly across from the Military Recruitment Office, Ali Emmi was grilling his first kebabs for officers and soldiers in a small hut. His 7-8-year-old son, Mustafa, would join him after school to lend a hand. Loved by all the soldiers, Mustafa was affectionately nicknamed "Asker" (which means “soldier” in Turkish) by the regulars.
Over the years, Mustafa grew up, perfected his kebab-making skills under his father’s guidance, and became the renowned Asker Usta. In 2022, he decided to bring the traditional art of kebab-making he learned from his father—and the warm atmosphere of Adana—to Istanbul.
